Plant fibre
Ellery's facade is covered in a plant fibre layer. Plant fibre comes from the Philippines sourced from the hemp plant. As a natural material, each length of plant fibre is unique and as such variations in colour will occur. Ellery is pictured here in a "Saddle" coloured plant fibre although other custom colour options are available.

European oak
European oak is a slow growing hardwood native tree to Europe. It has a golden to light brown colouring with a variety of grain patterns. Oak is very hard, durable wood and gets darker and richer with age. We use a protective white oil finish to allow the timber to age gracefully without heavy discolouration and withstand daily spillage.
European oak can display a variety of characteristics from straight grain to large swirling crown cut grain Medullary rays, small 'Cats paw' knots all of which are an intrinsic and natural part of the grain pattern.

Black American walnut
Black American walnut is a slow growing deciduous tree native to north America and Canada. It is a hardwood prized for its dark brown, purplish hue with a sometimes swirling grain, it can display many unique characteristics, such as knots and variations in depth of tone. Walnut will get lighter with age becoming more honeyed over time. We use a protective clear oil finish which enables the timber to age gracefully without heavy discolouration and withstand daily spillage.
Finish- clear oil. We use a clear satin hard-wax oil that enriches the colour of the timber.

Oiled wood
An oiled finish is a durable natural looking finish that can be revitalised (and if necessary, more easily repaired). Oiled finishes require some low level maintenance to keep the wood protected and looking its best.
Day to day cleaning:
• Wipe clean with a damp non-abrasive cloth, then using a dry cloth remove any excess moisture.
• Wipe up wine, oil and any liquids that might stain as quickly as possible.
• To ensure the finish remains as resilient as possible to staining we recommend Osmo Wash & Care (8016) as it contains soaps and oils to both nourish and prevent the wood from drying out.
6 monthly replenishment / more stubborn stains:
• As the table is used it can dry out as the oil can thin with wear and washing even with water. If the table looks dry or you have a more stubborn stain we recommend using a revitalising Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner (white 3087) for oak pieces and (clear 3029) for walnut pieces.
Do not:
• Leave any water, wine, oil or liquids that might stain – wipe up as quickly as possible. (Oil provides a semi-permeable finish, which means some liquids can penetrate the surface if left)
• Use ANY chemical cleaning products or bleach as this will remove the protective layer of oil and it will then stain.
Plant fibre
Plant fibre pieces should not be placed near any sources of heat or in outdoor conditions. As a natural material each length of abaca fibre is unique and as such variations in colour may occur.
Day to day cleaning:
• Any settled dust can be removed using a vacuum on the low suction setting.
Do not:
• Use liquid cleaners
