Gold leaf
The Soren series has an abaca fibre outer and a linen lining over a dark bronze frame. As a natural material, each length of plant fibre is unique and as such variations in colour will occur.
Black American walnut
Black American walnut is slow growing deciduous tree native to north America and Canada. It is a hardwood prized for its dark brown, purplish hue with a sometimes swirling grain, it can display many unique characteristics, such as knots and variations in depth of tone. Walnut will get lighter with age becoming more honeyed over time. We use a clear, satin hard-wax oil that enriches the colour of the timber.

Pure gold leaf
A gilded, lacquered finish that is resistant to tarnishing, but requires delicate handling to avoid scratches and abrasion.Day to day cleaning:
- Position the cabinet in a safe area, where it isn’t likely to be knocked or scratched.
- Use white gloves when moving or handling the cabinet to avoid marking or leaving fingerprints on its surface.
-
Gently remove surface dust with a Gilder’s mop, a very soft, dry brush or microfibre cloth.
- Place the cabinet in direct sunlight or close to any heat sources, as this can cause the gold leaf to appear duller.
- Never use water, household cleaner, or polish on the cabinet’s gilded surface, as this can dissolve the adhesive, causing the leaf to flake.
- Never scrub or use a hard brush on the cabinet’s surface, as this can cause abrasions and loss of detail.
- Attempt to clean minor scratches, either use a small amount of specialist gold-leaf rubbing cream or consult a professional restorer.
