Organic origins

Our lighting designs are often inspired by patterns and shapes drawn from the natural world. The Lilio lighting family takes reference from the staggered petals of a foxglove flower and is defined by its subtly flared plant fibre shades.

A sculptural softness

Made from abaca fibre, a traditional millinery material, each Lilio shade is crafted by moulding cut sections, which are shaped when wet around a block, to dry as a firm bell form. Hand-stitched in graduating layers, each shade gently increases in transparency to diffuse light intensity when illuminated.

A meeting of materiality

Evolved through many variations and levels of experimentation, the final signature Lilio shade shape is relevant to each series member: the wall light, pendant light and chandelier. Whilst the wall light and pendant light celebrate the beauty of simplicity with a single shade, the chandelier invites a meeting of materiality, pairing the sculptural properties of plant fibre with the contrast of bronze stems, and the craftsmanship of hand-turned timber.
