Plant fibre shade
Our Ewer light shade has an abaca fibre outer and a linen lining. As a natural material, each length of plant fibre is unique and as such variations in colour will occur. The metalwork is dark bronze finished.
Solid oak base
The base of our Ewer light is made from European oak, a slow growing hardwood native tree to Europe. It has a golden to light brown colouring with a variety of grain patterns. Oak is very hard, durable wood and gets darker and richer with age. We use a protective white oil finish to allow the timber to age gracefully without heavy discolouration and withstand daily spillage.
European oak can display a variety of characteristics from straight grain to large swirling crown cut grain Medullary rays and small 'Cats paw' knots, all of which are an intrinsic and natural part of the grain pattern.

What do UL and CE mean?
Different countries have different safety certification for lighting. UL is the USA certification and CE is the EU standard. Please check which option is acceptable for the country you are using the light in, for example Canada uses UL and Australia uses CE.
Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is a global safety certification for lighting supplied to the United States. Any light fixtures sold into the United States or Canada must use components or have the whole fixture tested by Underwriters Laboratories to ensure the highest safety standards.
Our UL lighting uses UL listed components.
The CE marking is required for goods sold in the European Economic Area. "CE" is the abbreviation of "conformité européenne" (French for "European conformity"). Any light fixtures sold into the EU must be assessed and deemed to meet EU safety, health and environmental protection requirements.
Our CE lighting uses CE listed components including CE wall plugs.
Can I customise this piece?
We do not offer customisation options as standard on our lighting collection as the pieces are made in small batches. However if you have a project that requires customisation on multiple pieces please contact our sales team to see how we can accommodate your request.
Can the cord that comes with this piece be changed?
Our lighting is supplied with a natural coloured weave flex as standard. This cord has been designed as part of the piece and thus we do not offer custom cord colours.
What is the weight of the product?
Approximate product weights can be found on the spec sheet downloaded from the product page. The weight excludes any packaging.
How do I clean the light?
It is best to avoid liquid cleaners. Any settled dust may be removed using a vacuum on the low setting.
Where is the plant fibre grown?
The plant fibre is grown in the Philippines. It is made from the leaves of an Abaca plant and is inherently sustainable.
